Amazon Rainforest Tour

The Amazon Rainforest Conservation Centre (ARCC) is a remote, purpose-built eco-lodge located 175km (110miles) up the Las Piedras River, in southeast Peru. The lodge is situated just steps away from the pristine, wildlife-rich Lake Soledad, and is surrounded by majestic tropical rainforest. ARCC boasts an impressive 35m high canopy platform for viewing the forest and lake.

ARCC is a real find for wildlife enthusiasts; it brings guests into close proximity with abundant wildlife, particularly species which are scarce or absent from less remote rainforest tourist destinations. At ARCC, most guests get good observations of the most sought after monkey species in the area, the spectacular black spider monkey, and the resident giant otters on Lake Soledad are also frequently seen. At ARCC, management is sensitive to the wildlife’s needs, hence you can observe the giant otters feeding, playing, grooming or resting without disturbing these rare and beautiful mammals.

Birdwatching opportunities are excellent, with many rare and endemic species recorded as well as the most spectacular and beautiful rainforest species such as toucans, parrots and macaws- but you don’t need to be a specialist to enjoy the peace and beauty of the tropical rainforest surrounding ARCC.

The centre is very well appointed and cared for, providing stylish and comfortable accommodation in raised palm thatched bungalows with private bathrooms, electric lights and hot water.
