General Information

One of Chile’s jewels is its trekking in the world famous Torres del Paine national park in Patagonia.

The east of the region has been compared to the end of the earth, an evocative wilderness. The west presents a much more vertical aspect. The Patagonian Andes is an amazing collection of soaring granite spires, vast glaciers and forests and provide some of the most awesome panoramas on the planet.

Paine national park offers great trekking opportunities and we have many itineraries to help you get the most out of your trip. You can walk in and out, kayak out, ride horses, hike some or all of the Paine W, do a full circuit of Paine and trek on the glacier, depending on your desires..

From the natural snow-capped amphitheatre that is the French Valley to the Horns of Paine. The trekking and views here are excellent – and with no altitude problems, Patagonia is a great place to trek.

Another great place to explore and which is well off the beaten track is Robinson Crusoe island in the Juan Fernandez Archipelago. Located 400 miles off the Central coast of Chile, this UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve is a great place to trek.

Its craggy volcanic topography, its sub tropical climate and its remote location means that whilst you trek not only will you be rewarded by great views but you will be able to follow in the real footsteps of pirates or the marooned sailor Alexander Selkirk. Additionally you will also be able to spot the more than 140 native and endemic species of flora and fauna.

The Atacama Desert and the Altiplano offer stunning scenery. It is high altitude trekking and this combined with some of the clearest skies in the world mean that the colours are much more intense. The rich mineral wealth means that the rock formations, volcanoes and valleys are different hues of red, purple, yellow and brown. The oases add the touches of green whilst the sky and lakes add those of blue.

An abundance of wildlife including llamas, guanacoes, condors, flamingoes and vizcachas can be spotted. Atacamanian villages with their cultural heritage intact are visited and the rich archaeology of the region is there to be seen.

Chile's Lakes and Volcanoes is famous for its stunning beauty. Prisitne lakes surrounded by snow capped volcanoes and millenary cold rain forest are the back drop for great hikes and treks.
