Cusco Active: multi-activity, adventure tour through Inca heartlands to Machu Picchu.

The journey starts in Lima, buzzing and chaotic capital of modern day Peru.

Travel on to Cuzco, Inca capital of Peru. There is plenty of time to explore Cusco with a tour of the city's sites and ruins followed by successive exhilirating days of mountain biking in Maras and Moray then rafting on the Urubamba river.

Next it's the Sacred Valley, also known as the breadbasket of the Incas, where you spend time at the impressive market at Pisac before returning to Cusco to prepare for your next adventure.

Now acclimatised, you head off to trek the classic Trek the Inca Trail to the magnificent Inca site of Machu Picchu.

You can then choose to end your tour here or travel across the high plains of Peru on one of the world’s greatest train journeys, and take a boat out onto the expansive Lake Tititcaca to visit the Indians of the Uros and Taquile islands. Return to Lima on the Pacific coast.

Alternatively fly down into the Amazon jungle to the Wasai Lodge (or choose any of our Amazon lodges).
