Chachani offers climbers one of the Andes most accessible 6,000 metre peaks in the world.
Chachani is an impressive volcano about 20km north of Arequipa.
It is a high and cold climb and should be tackled only by experienced, acclimatised mountaineers with full snow- and ice-climbing equipment. It is essential to take plenty of water.
