Arequipa's volcanoes are spectacularly beautiful and an adventure site for climbers and walkers in Peru.
Misti is the smallest in the range of three Chachani (6,075m) and Ampato (6,310m) the other two but is no less imposing from the valley.
The dry season is the best time to scale Misti, which rewards walkers with stunning views of the region and its crater.
