Amazing Paine
This version on the Paine W trek is an endearing classic adventure holiday. We trek into Torres Del Paine National Park on the famous W and finish it off by walking to one of the best viewpoints of Paine.
Paine National Park is rightly one of the wonders of South America, with amazing mountains, lakes and glaciers which we make sure you get up close to.
From our starting point, the southern Chilean city of Puerto Natales, we cross the Patagonian plains and into this vast wilderness area.
The mountain massif is encircled by a glacial hydrological system linking numerous opaque, silica-rich lakes of various hues of blue. This Paine W version starts on the Eastern side of the park, taking us up to the vertical Torres for a breathtaking starter.
We follow the W around and into the spectacular French valley, and then on to the amazing iceberg-filled Grey Lake where we take a boat ride to get up close to the floating chunks of ice.
It’s topped off with a trek to Ferrier Mount, a hike up to reach one the most spectacular look out points in Torres del Paine. A great way goodbye to this amazing National Park.
You can extend your trekking tour with a visit to the magnificent Perito Moreno Glacier. Six kilometres wide and sixty metres high, this vast blue tongue of ice is still growing! Hours can be spent in awe as icebergs calve ear-splittingly into the channel.
Check our Books and Maps section where you will find a range of literature to help you get the most out of your South American adventure.
