Learn Spanish in Peru

Learn Spanish in Peru with our professional language teachers. We offer small classes at our excellent language school in Cusco. Quechua classes are also on offer and as this is the language of most of the highlanders in Peru, a little Quechua goes a long way. Focus on conversation classes or grammar, or combine both.

Acquire new life skills as you learn in our Spanish or Quechua classes based in Peru’s old Inca capital, Cusco.

Peruvian Spanish is very clear and easy to understand, the teachers are professional and experienced, so you’ll see progress in your ability quickly. With a good level of Spanish, you will get a lot more out of your travelling. If you venture off the beaten track you will find Quechua of even more use. Many older people in remote areas only speak Quechua.

We suggest you stay with a local family to practice speaking and interacting whilst in Cusco. A home stay will definitely help you learn Spanish at a faster rate. You will be made to feel welcome and partake in the life of a local family. Enjoy local food such as lomo saltado, learn about the many potato varieties and how they are cooked. You will also hear exclusive inside information and recommendations on the best places to visit in Cusco and other parts of Peru.

The Cusco Spanish language courses last a week or longer and soon you’ll be talking to local people, helping you get around more easily and understand Peru more deeply.

We suggest you combine learning Spanish or Quechua in Peru with other activities. You could do some volunteer work, trek the Inca Trail, make a visit to a rural farm homestay or an eco-lodge in the Amazon or join any of our other Peru tours.

The language school: It was great. We got to do loads of conversation and really learned a lot in the time. The school is very small and cosy.

The home stay: Miguel and his family were really welcoming. We spoke Spanish with them almost exclusively. The food was also great -- they made us all kinds of Peruvian specialities (lomo saltado, papas rellenas, chicha morada), and took us out to a couple of their favourite restaurants.
