White water rafting in the Amazon

We start at Lake Titicaca and white water raft from the Andes to the heart of the Amazon jungle.

The boat drifts into the wildlife-rich rainforest regions of the lower Tambopata river.

Lake Titicaca

We acclimatise in the high altitude of Puno, on the shores of the lake.

One day, we cruise to the inhabited floating Uros islands and also visit the stunning pre-Inca ruins of Sillustani.

Wild water

The journey begins in a rarely-visited region of Peru - the little-known Apolobamba and Carabaya mountain ranges.

From here, bidding farewell to civilisation, we start our rafting adventure on the Rio Tambopata, heading into pristine jungle in search of wilderness, wildlife and wild water.

Wildlife exploration

The last few days are spent drifting silently, spotting rare wildlife, exploring tributaries and camping on beaches.

A night in a comfortable jungle lodge beside a macaw lick gives us time to explore jungle trails.

Then we head downriver to Puerto Maldonado and take a short flight to Cusco, ancient capital of the Incas.

Cusco and Machu Picchu

There is a chance to relax for a day in Cusco, a beautiful city full of interesting buildings and culture.

The next day, there is the option to take the train to visit the amazing Lost City of the Incas, Machu Picchu (£150 extra cost), or trek the 4 day classic Inca Trail (£285). If not then end the tour today by flying back to Lima.

The tour ends when we fly back to Lima the next day.
