All of our staff have lived and travelled extensively in South America over the last 30 years.
Together, we have more than 110 years’ experience of living, working & travelling across this fascinating and amazing continent.
We use this wealth of personal knowledge and experience to help you find and plan the perfect trip.
We travel back regularly to research and take part in established and new tours, and to meet with our local partners, which gives us first hand, up-to-date information on what’s happening in South America.

We contacted Tom at Andean Trails to set up a private mountain biking trip to Ecuador.
He arranged a 10-day biking trip through the Avenue of the Volcanos, riding into the cloud forest and through some local villages.
Our guide, Jose, and driver, Victor, found us quiet dirt roads, albeit challenging climbs and fun descents! Our accommodations were amazing, from quaint chalets to a mansion built by the Jesuits! Loved that we rode from our hotel to the next one most days!
Would definitely do this trip again!

We really loved the trip and the whole Galaxy experience- it suited us very well, given our preference to normally travel independently. The crew, activities, service and food were excellent, and the yacht and group size were perfect for us.
The information and clear instructions you provided were spot on and much appreciated. From booking with you to the end of the cruise, it was all very slick. Highlights were the tortoises and the snorkelling activities. The accommodation/ food/ guides/ overall organisation were excellent—exceeded expectations.
We really enjoyed the experience. We researched the routes and boats and felt that what we chose suited us best- the flavour of several islands, lots of activities each day, and a small boat with excellent facilities. Andean Trails was noted as an agent through whom we could book the Galaxy, and again, with some research, trusted that Andean Trails would be a great choice (and it was!) In particular, the call with you, Tom, reassured us in our choice and made us feel comfortable booking through Andean Trails.
