Peru has to be one of the friendliest, prettiest places. Really, all of the contacts were great.
Jesus in Cusco was also really lovely and warm. The hotels were fantastic, and the amount of time allocated to things was ideal.
I must say Alan, you put together a really fantastic holiday for my Mom and I really loved it, there were just so many highlights I can't really point out only one, but Cusco is a really special spot, and so is the Sacred Valley.
Our Amazon lodge was beautiful, and our guide Listen was just such a darling, by far the best guide in the Amazon.
I don't think I would do anything differently - it was really a perfect trip. Thank you so much.

I had such a fantastic time. I really didn't want to leave. It is certainly a country that I would like to see more of. The sights were amazing and the people lovely and I was impressed with the amount of English that was spoken and the patience they had for gringoes. All the guides were great and very thorough (sorting out transfers, tickets and pick-up times etc) which made the whole experiece extremely smooth. There were so many parts of the trip that were wonderful that it is a little difficult to pick out a highlight. The 2 day trek felt very special as there were so few other people around and it was wonderful to see Saul perform a ceremony at Huchuy Qosqo.
Thank you for all the time and effort you put into the planning of this trip for me. I really appreciate everything that you have done to make this holiday a unique and seamless experience. I would certainly highly recommend Andean Trails to others. I couldn't have asked for any more from you.

We loved all our side trips and I have to tell you that Jesus was absolutely wonderful. Nothing was too much trouble for him and he went above and beyond on many occasions. He has a wonderful gentle and polite manner and is a wonderful ambassador for Peru. I gave him a large tip and he was well worth every penny.
Machu Picchu was stunning and I managed to make it to the top for the sunrise. We also thoroughly enjoyed the Sacred Valley tour and so pleased we added it in.
I fell in love with the country whilst we were working on the mission so all being well I will be able to return again before too long.

Larry and Gillian are coming to the end of their month of travelling with Andean Trails in Patagonia. We put together a tour designed to take them off-the-beaten-track – read the first instalment in their blog – covering Santiago and Aysen and remote border crossings. Once in Argentina, Gillian and Larry trekked to the base of Fitzroy and Cerro Torre, and took a day tour to Perito Moreno. They then set off for Torres del Paine on a self-guided trek. Their tour has ended with a few days in Ushuaia and a flight out from Buenos Aires. Check their progress below …
