A beautifully organised adventure at EcoCamp Patagonia, combining comfort, camaraderie, and breathtaking trekking in Torres del Paine.
I’m pleased to say that all the arrangements went to plan and the Eco Camp was excellent. Much better than an hotel. More comfort than I had expected and the food was excellent.
I was in a group of 11 and we had an excellent group dynamic even with an age range from 72 to 33. 3 Brits, 4 USA, 2 Canadians, 1 Honk Kong and 1 France.
We had 2 guides who were excellent.
Well worth the long journey and I can thoroughly recommend the holiday.
An unforgettable Ecuador adventure combining world-class horseback riding in the Andes with a spectacular Galapagos cruise aboard the Angelito.
Hi Tom – just wanted to let you know that the riding was FANTASTIC and the Galapagos trip was WONDERFUL!
It was all a highlight really! The riding week was fantastic in terms of the setting / organisation/ quality of leadership / quality of horses and group composition.
And ditto in relation to the Galapagos Islands trip!
Sally was an excellent and knowledgeable guide – as was Martha on the Angelito.
A rewarding high-Andes trek with expert guides, great food, and unforgettable summit days supported by an exceptional local team.
I would rate the Guide as 10/10, or maybe a 9/10- really excellent.
The cook was great also, as were the donkey drivers. Thanks for setting us up with such great people. The food was very good, 9/10. Maybe a few more potatoes than we bargained for.
The highlights were probably the summits, although the rest days after the summits were very nice.
A more challenging and deeply rewarding alternative to the Inca Trail, superbly organised and truly life-changing for all who took part.
The trip was fantastic.
I think the trip was a life changing experience for some and everyone had nothing but positive things to say about it. The accommodation was of good standard and in a good central location.
It was more challenging than just doing the Inca Trail and that is what I wanted.
Thank you very much for organizing it and putting up with a lot of emails from the team/myself.
A flawlessly organised Patagonia adventure through Argentina and Chile, highlighted by stunning scenery, friendly guides, and the unforgettable sight of Perito Moreno Glacier calving into the lake.
We’re back in El Calafate at the conclusion of our wonderful adventure.
Thanks so much to you, Andean Trails, and the local operators here in Argentina and Chile for what turned out to be a perfectly executed trip.
Everything went as scheduled with friendly and helpful people assisting us along the way.
The accommodations were great, the food delicious and nourishing (broiled salmon at a remote Refugio!), and the views and experience spectacular.
An unforgettable experience was watching the glacier calving at Perito Moreno. Every five or ten minutes, another building-sized block of ice came crashing down into the lake. Many of these events I was able to capture on video.
Again, thank you so much for everything, we will have memories that will last us a lifetime.
An unforgettable Salkantay Trek made even more special by a mountain-top engagement, with exceptional guiding, amazing food, and flawless organisation from start to finish.
I got engaged on the 2nd day at Salkantay Pass which was a huge highlight and the team made such an effort to celebrate it with us.
It was absolutely amazing! It was tough at times but totally worth it. Your team in Peru were amazing, they were very professional.
Our guide, Percy was very passionate, knowledgable and very patient with me at times we reached high altitude. He never rushed on ahead, he kept our small group together and kept the atmosphere and energy high. His sense of humor and personality is great! The chef, Alberto made amazing food and such a variety! The horsemen of course were lovely and very caring towards their animals.
Thank you for all the thorough information and instant replies, it was exactly as you explained.
I just wanted to send this email as a thank you and it has most certainly been the highlight of our Peru trip!
Beautifully guided treks through Peru’s Cordillera Blanca with breathtaking turquoise lakes, delicious mountain meals, and an outstanding guide who made every hike memorable.
Rodolpho was amazing – very knowledgeable, friendly, and good at accommodating the different skill levels and interests of the group.
Food was great – very impressed with what they can put together in the middle of the mountains!
Best hikes for me were Churup and Arhuaycocha – couldn’t get over the turquoise color of the water!
A truly rewarding Inca Trail adventure shared between mother and daughter, with passionate guides, amazing porters, and the unforgettable first glimpse of Machu Picchu from the Sun Gate.
It was a fantastic experience… for me personally it was so rewarding and a real personal achievement.
The highlight for me…perhaps that iconic initial view down to Machu Picchu from the Sun Gate, the whole trip was great.
All our guides were fantastic and passionate and knowledgeable and the porters are incredible.
I would definitely recommend Andean Trails and would like to take this opportunity to thank you for all your help and advice which was so very helpful and glad we took a pair of walking sticks each!
Definitely made me feel restless, a fab memory to share with my daughter and looking forward to the next trip
A beautifully organised Patagonian adventure combining the breathtaking scenery of Torres del Paine and Mt Fitz Roy with a once-in-a-lifetime cruise to Cape Horn, made seamless by excellent planning and attention to detail.
We are now home again from our fantastic trip. We thoroughly enjoyed it all.
Hotel Las Torres at Torres del Paine – a lovely hotel. Very happy with our accommodation there and restaurants and bar etc. The guides were friendly and professional and we enjoyed it all.
With the Stella Australis, it was an experience to be standing on Cape Horn and some of the scenery was wonderful. I think we had been spoiled by the truly magnificent scenery of Torres del Paine and Mt Fitzroy.
All up, Alan, it was a fantastic holiday and we enjoyed it all. Thank you for your excellent service and advice in making all the arrangements, your brilliant suggestions and attention to all the details.
An unforgettable adventure through Peru and the Galapagos, with outstanding guides, superb organisation, delicious food, and incredible wildlife encounters that made for a truly magical holiday.
FANTASTIC! The trip was magical, magnificent and great fun and much of that is credit to you for helping us build such a wonderful holiday.
All of our guides and drivers were excellent but of course some were more exceptional than others. The driver who took us around on our last day in Cusco was better than most guides.
Coral I, Galapagos – On Galapagos we had 2 absolutely brilliant guides.
The boat was excellent and although the itinerary had changed slightly we had a fantastic array of experiences on many different islands. The accommodation was good and we are very pleased we upgraded. Being downstairs helped on those nights that the boat was moving in choppy waters as it only has a 2m draught and so can sway quite heavily.
Food was unbelievably good and plentiful given the limited resources. Extra snacks were provided when we came back from swimming/snorkelling and hot drinks were available 24 hours.
We had a memorable holiday and we thank you for all you did to make it work so well.
In summary, it was terrific and we have already, and will continue to sing the praises of Andean Trails.
A beautifully organised Patagonian trekking adventure with excellent guiding, hearty camp meals, and unforgettable views of Fitz Roy, Cerro Torre, and the wild mountain landscapes around El Chaltén.
Our trip was excellent and well organised.
We were very happy with our guide Federico – an enthusiastic and knowledgeable guide to the area, with many stories to share of adventures in the mountains
All the camp staff did an excellent job of keeping us fed and comfortable, operating in quite challenging conditions. The food was good quality and plentiful.
High points for me were arriving into El Chalten on a sunny day with clear views of Fitzroy and Cerro Torre, getting up to Passo el Viento and our final day’s walk, returning towards Chalten as the skies began to clear giving us some good views.
A wonderfully organised trek with knowledgeable guides, fantastic food, and thoughtful touches throughout, from tea in bed to warm camp welcomes, making for an unforgettable Andean adventure.
Yes it was an amazing trip made better because we did not feel ill and of course the organisation of your team.
The hot water to wash in was a nice surprise, the tea in bed, and the food was fantastic. They really know their stuff.
The porters were polite and clapped for us when we arrived back in the camp, the small things that mean a lot.
We were very happy with everything. Victor is very knowledgeable and is very enthusiastic.
The equipment was well looked after and a well run team.
A superbly organised Patagonian adventure blessed with clear skies, sunshine, and breathtaking scenery throughout.
We had a very nice time on our trip, and you earned our appreciation for the planning and arrangements.
Highlight was the scenery, which was superb. We had excellent weather (windy!) but with sun and clear skies.
An epic three-week family adventure through Peru and the Galapagos, from Inca trails to the Amazon and beyond, perfectly organised by Andean Trails, who turned even a cancelled flight into part of the adventure.
Andean Trails put together an amazing 3 week adventure for us to take in Lima, Cusco, Machu Picchu and the Inca trails and history of the Andes, the rainforest and then a trip to discover the wonders of the Galapagos. Everything ran so smoothly with luxurious accommodation, expert guides and fun activities such as cycling and white water rafting.
Indeed, as we left the rainforest with just over a week to go we had already decided that it was our best family holiday ever… And that was when the airline cancelled our flight out of the jungle. Any good travel agent can sort out the holiday you want but its when things go wrong that the best agents excel. Missing the flight out of Porto Maldonado meant we would miss our two connecting flights to get us to the Galapagos. It was unclear if we would get on another flight out there as it was a busy time of year.
Alan and the team worked tirelessly to resolve the situation and rerouted us through Quito (with stop off and a visit to the equator) from where they managed to get us on another flight to the Galapagos. They turned a potential disaster into another part of the adventure. There is no way we could have sorted it out ourselves. So we just wanted to say a massive thank you to Alan and the team and we are only too happy to recommend Andean Trails. It was epic!
A beautifully organised family adventure in Peru — so enjoyable the first time that we trusted Andean Trails completely for another unforgettable trip.
We loved the way you arrange our trip to Peru for the kids.
We had so much fun last time in Peru that we trust you completely.
A wonderfully diverse and expertly organised family adventure through Peru and Bolivia, from deserts to rainforests, with Tom’s personal insight, flexibility, and local knowledge turning an ambitious plan into a truly unforgettable journey.
Andean Trails helped us organise a memorable family trip through Peru and Bolivia.
We loved exploring the diversity these countries have to offer – coast, desert, mountains, salt flats and rain forests – with a balance of culture, activity and a little bit of R&R!
I generally like to do the research for trips myself but after the initial research phase, it was great to have Tom as an expert partner, focused on delivering what we wanted to get out of the trip, whilst adding value by suggesting things that would enhance our experience.
He provided an invaluable sense check on what was possible, adding support and expertise to make our ambitious plan a reality – e.g, organising private transfers to get us to where we needed to be before the border closed etc. and providing the reassurance of a ‘go to’ person on the ground for help when needed. He was fabulous to work with and it felt like planning the trip with a friend.
Tom really knows the people and places in all the locations and his suggestions for activities to keep everyone in the family interested and entertained were spot on, meaning we had lots of cool things to do with wonderfully knowledgeable guides, including special times on Lake Titicaca with a home stay on Amantanti.
Thanks for helping us create the most memorable family trip.
A spectacular tailor-made adventure through Peru and Bolivia, from the magic of Machu Picchu to the vast salt flats, with flawless organisation, great guides, and expert planning that turned an ambitious dream into reality.
Our trip was fantastic, the highlight was a tie between Machu Picchu and the salt flats. Both of those places were unreal. The accommodations were great, the food was great, and the overall organization was awesome. We were so happy with the way everything worked out, and so grateful to you for making our ambitious agenda a reality! Our salt flat guide and driver were amazing, and we really enjoyed spending time with them.
Thank you so much for helping us plan everything. You were so delightful to work with, and we were so impressed that you were able to get this adventure together so quickly for us! We will be recommending Andean Trails to our friends/family, and hope to travel with you guys again in the future.
A flawlessly organised luxury Inca Trail adventure, from gourmet camp meals and expert guides to the unforgettable moment of walking through the Sun Gate to Machu Picchu, with Andean Trails delivering excellence every step of the way.
Thanks for everything! I will definitely recommend Andean Trails and the organisation of the Luxury Inca Trail was top notch! Our Cusco experience was better than Lima, but we still enjoyed all services! Special thanks to Jesus in Cusco and Dante our guide for the two day trips! Our Inca Trail staff were phenomenal, if they can be recognized, I want to give special mention to Elias, our guide, Florentino our chef, and Johan, Chapuline, Celestino, Octavio, and Josue, our porters!
Highlight was the trek and walking in through the Sun Gate to Machu Picchu! Accommodations were excellent, food on the trek was fabulous and way better than I expected! We enjoyed learning about the culture and getting to know the guides and staff.
The food tour (in Lima) was great! Really enjoyed trying the different native fruits and the ceviche!
A fun and diverse Colombian adventure, from cycling and snorkelling to the epic Lost City trek, with excellent guides, friendly locals, and seamless organisation making every moment unforgettable.
Our bike tour was very good we had an excellent guide
Rio Claro was absolutely wonderful – the fact that there were many people there meant we mixed a lot and loved it. Amount of time there was just right.
Our private taxi to Rio Salento was with a lovely taxi driver, very safe, very polite.
Snorkelling was magnificent, a very nice place.
On The Lost City trek – the guide was Camacho, who was great. We were given fresh sheets on the beds at camp, the washing facilities are poor and toilets very basic. Camacho did a great job at looking after our diets. We had a big downpour one day and the path became a mud bath – Camacho was great at helping us along safely. The weather cleared and next 3 days were amazing.
Overall we loved Colombia – it was a lovely place to go and the people were really friendly. We had lots of laughs and were reassured knowing there was help at the end of the phone if need be.
A blissfully remote escape to Colombia’s Pacific Coast, where jungle meets ocean, whales breach offshore, and tranquility replaces Wi-Fi, the perfect place to truly get away from it all.
I only made a flying visit to the Colombian Pacific Coast around Nuqui. This is certainly a place to get away from it all as the area is like an island surrounded by tropical jungle. Lodges with limited electricity, no mobile phone reception nor internet, masses of wildlife, whales, white sandy beaches, surf, jungle trails, canoe rides, lots of seafood and tranquility. To many, heaven.
A day of contrasts and joy, from tired legs to hummingbirds and heartfelt encounters with local families, making this Colombian trek a truly rewarding and memorable experience.
I woke up and I was full of energy. I slept well. I honestly thought today was going to be worse than it was. But I started going and it was fine. I was so happy to meet the lovely family and students at Finca Argentina that it filled me with good energy. I had such a lovely evening there. Today there was such a beautiful landscape, it made it worth it. Also, I knew how far we had to walk, and how long it was going to take us, and that was really important for me, psychologically.
We saw a lot of changes, and humming birds, which was lovely, but I was very tired at some points and my legs were not responding .But it was great in another sense as I was very happy to get to the hotel, knowing I’d seen wonderful things and that I’d done the trek! The landscape was great and finding people who live in these remote places, and live so happily in these lovely areas, that was the most beautiful part for me.And for that alone, it was worth it.
