Mary, Torres del Paine Chile
Patagonia is unbeatable for hiking and trekking holidays, from group walking trips to private, bespoke itineraries.
The star attractions are Torres del Paine National Park in Chile and Fitzroy National Park in Argentina.
In both we offer group walking holidays to self-guided hikes to the top attractions.
Trekking is our passion, we have a range of great walking trips where you camp or stay in luxury eco-domes or hotels.
Patagonia hikes also include the Lake District and the less well-known Cochamo or Montes Martial in Ushuaia.
The wide open spaces of Patagonia, with its fresh air, awe-inspiring spires and blue lakes and glaciers, await.
Our trip was really wonderful. I thoroughly enjoyed every minute and I can honestly say that there weren't any low points.
But, there were many highlights. Camp Poincenot in the woods in the snow was chilly but fun. Amazing views of Fitzroy. Our tour leader Flor was excellent as was Fernando, one of the mountain guides. The wildlife was memorable.
All the accommodation was generally very good. The camps were really good fun, good fun and really warm sleeping bags.

It was very memorable - reaching the lakeside at Torre del Paine after the trek through the valley; exhausted but exhilarating. The small group bred a camaraderie that added to the wealth of experiences.
The hotels were a level below what we might have chosen for ourselves but we could never haver reached such locations or enjoyed ourselves so much if not for the group experience.

» Patagonia Highlights Trekking Trip
We had a very nice time on our trip, and you earned our appreciation for the planning and arrangements.
Highlight was the scenery, which was superb. We had excellent weather (windy!) but with sun and clear skies.

Larry and Gillian are coming to the end of their month of travelling with Andean Trails in Patagonia. We put together a tour designed to take them off-the-beaten-track – read the first instalment in their blog – covering Santiago and Aysen and remote border crossings. Once in Argentina, Gillian and Larry trekked to the base of Fitzroy and Cerro Torre, and took a day tour to Perito Moreno. They then set off for Torres del Paine on a self-guided trek. Their tour has ended with a few days in Ushuaia and a flight out from Buenos Aires. Check their progress below …
